Fri 30 Sep | Jo Harrop Trio | Mockbeggars Hall Blewbury OX119QQ | Private house concert , strictly advance bookings and payment | 7:30 doors, 8pm show | £30 |Tickets: Izabela@dircon.co.uk

Effortlessly blurring the lines between jazz and folk, it is achingly beautiful music, that is so shot through with pathos and pain, it could melt the hardest of hearts. The Guardian dubbed her work, ‘a little gem: simple, modest and perfect,’ whilst BBC 6 Music’s Iggy Pop fell in love with her voice, calling her “a very fine jazz singer.”  Warm, smoky and capable of the most delicate dynamics, Jo Harrop’s mellifluous voice reveals a rarely found intimacy.

“Whatever the subject matter, Harrop’s voice is always versatile enough to eloquently convey a range of moods and emotions; she always makes this sound effortless and natural.” All About Jazz
