Charismatic and visionary trumpet player and composer Mark Kavuma and his sextet present their new album ‘Magnum Opus’ featuring original compositions, arrangements and performances by leading members of the British jazz scene. Released last Autumn, the album was launched at a sold-out Queen Elizabeth Hall (Southbank Centre) as part of the London Jazz Festival.

An up close and intimate evening featuring a mix of jazz, original compositions, Gershwin and arrangements of favourite classical pieces for violin, piano & cello. Nigel Kennedy & Beata Urbanek Kalinowska have mesmerised jazz audiences all around the world. To witness international musicians of such calibre up close & person in such an up close & intimate venue is unheard of.
Nigel Kennedy’s early career was primarily spent performing classical music. His 1989 Vivaldi’s Four Seasons album became the The Guinness Book of Records’ bestselling classical recording ever. Kennedy has won multiple Brit Awards. Whilst recognised as one of the world’s greatest classical musicians, Kennedy’s love of jazz is well known. At 14 years old, he played with the great Hot Club Gypsy Jazz musician Stéphane Grappelli.
Cellist Beata Urbanek Kalinowska trained at Krakow music academy, Ecole de Musique de Paris and Staatliche Hochschule fur Musik, Stuttgart. A multi award winning musician who has worked with Nigel Kennedy for many years – recording on his album Vivalidi’s Four Seasons. The New Four Seasons. The Four Elements. Kennedy meets Gershwin. Internationally renowned jazz pianist and Steinway artist Lenore Raphael plays tribute to two great jazz masters: pianist Oscar Peterson and alto saxophonist Sonny Stitt, famously recorded on the 1959 album “Sonny Stitt Sits in with the Oscar Peterson Trio”. Sheena Caprice in an inspiring jazz vocalist, who began singing at the age of four. Her passion for Jazz was heavily influenced by greats such as Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Betty Carter and Nina Simone. Her performances also reflect more contemporary artists such as Rachelle Ferrell and Dianne Reeves. Sheena has performed at various venues, including Sky Lounge at Castle View Windsor.
