This week’s Hot Biscuits jazz show shares some exquisite tracks from a live session from the Creative Space at the Swan, South Manchester curtesy of Ian Brown. This features the Steven Pimlott & Ulrich Elbracht project. Playing with them are Bassist, John Sandham and Drummer, Philip Bennett. Also on the show are new releases galore including works from, Jay Riley, Luna Cohen, Sue McCreeth, The Cloggz. Last but not least is the Franck Amsallem Trio with the `Summer knows’. Small Blue is a jazz trio led by drummer/composer Martin Pyne with Marianne Windham on bass and David Beebee on piano. The group’s debut album, The Stealthy Moon, was released in February 2024 to enthusiastic critical acclaim. Small Blue’s music is intimate, but ranges far and wide in mood and tempo, taking in heartfelt ballads, mysterious grooves, evocative atmospheres and melodic swing along the way.

A lifelong friend of Louis Armstrong, Enrico Tomasso has five British Jazz Awards to his credit, while Duncan brings his joy for music to every performance.
